Giveaway!

So, since my comment button mysteriously disappeared last time I tried this, let's do it again! Sorry for the confusion. ; )

One winner will be chosen to win a set of 9 Amharic Thank You cards. Each card has an English "Thank You," and Amharic translation with pronunciation.  They are all earthy, rich colors with a blank inside and are the perfect backdrop for voicing your grattitude.

So how do you win this set of OOAK cards? Simply leave me a comment and tell me something you're thankful for. (seems fitting, right?)
I will randomly pick a winner next Thursday morning and notify the winner by email.

Thank you so much for being one of my 'fans!'

Bring on the BUNA!

This picture was taken at our goodbye party when we left Addis to move to the countryside. This is actually one of my sweet students at the school where we taught.  What you see here is a typical coffee ceremony. The beans are roasted right in front of you, then ground, then added to water and sweetend with sugar.  It is strong coffee-but oh, so good! I loved how special they made this ceremony for us, with the cultural clothes, the grass of the floor to 'decorate' the classroom. It was perfect.

When we moved to the countryside there was a neighboring people group that served their coffee with salt and melted spiced butter.  I have only one word for this tradition. Ugh!  I loved most of what I ate and drank there (and now crave the food!), but the salted, buttery coffee was one cutlural tradition I can do just fine without. Just sugar, please. ; )

100 (+!!) Facebook Fan Giveaway!

Woo-Hoo! As a way to celebrate, I'm holding another giveway.  I know, cool-right?  :) This time I'm giving away some Thank You cards, in Amharic of course.

One winner will be chosen to win a set of 8 Amharic Thank You cards. Each card will be different, but will be similar in style to the ones above. They are all earthy, rich colors with a blank inside and are the perfect backdrop for voicing your grattitude.

So how do you win this set of OOAK cards? Simply leave me a comment and tell me something you're thankful for. (seems fitting, right?)
I will randomly pick a winner next Tuesday morning and notify the winner by email.
